RTM’s Journey to creating a necessity for smart and efficient manufacturing

RTM has been introduced as the 48th bright startup as part of the ‘Startup 101’ program by Startup Today.

RTM is a tech startup dedicated to enabling smart and efficient manufacturing decisions in the high-tech industries such as semiconductor, display, and renewable energy sectors. Industrial AI technology in manufacturing is less common than Service AI. RTM was first established in the manufacturing industry to not only provide user convenience but also manufacturing efficiency to fully address the potential and opportunity in a blue ocean market sector for AI.

Main solutions include image data and time-series data solutions based on deep learning AI technology that detect faulty products determining process anomalies to recommend productivity and cost-effective operation enhancement decisions. RTM also participates in various industry-academic joint technology development consortiums, proof-of-concept (POC) to prepare for a development of an embedded AI platform applicable across wider manufacturing applications.

Last April, RTM received series A funding of approximately 3.0b KRW – to which RTM’s founder Ki-suk Sung stated, “our portfolio demonstrated our insightful team and experiences that resolved many challenges, especially across the semiconductor and renewable energy manufacturing industries.” Additionally, RTM has proven its technology and potential through various competitions and patents with industry leading manufacturers over the past 4 years.

Sung added, “we hope data-related policies will be adjusted accordingly so that companies like RTM can realize our full business potential.” And the RTM founder advised new startups to courageously confront new challenges. Sung concluded, “There have been, and still are many challenges for Industrial AI to establish its place. But we believe that these are growing pains that will guide us to become a sturdier global unicorn.”
